The connection was also natural, with both sharing a profound connection to the divine. Symbol of fascination across civilizations, gold was used to honor deities and embody the sacred. Similarly, perfume, born from ancient rituals, was once a bridge between earth and the divine, its fragrant smoke—‘per fumum’—carrying prayers to the heavens.
